About Us

Musical Adventures Classes for Infants-K
Musical Adventures offers a selection of classes introducing small groups of young children and their families to the joys of music. By engaging in developmentally appropriate group music experiences of singing, movement, playing percussion instruments and use of props, responding to, and creating music, the youngest students in our Conservatory build the foundation for a comprehensive music education. Key to the Concordia Conservatory mission, Musical Adventures creates a unique child-centered musical environment within each class incorporating international folk songs as well as classical, modern, popular, and original music.

Suzuki Violin, Guitar & Cello
Suzuki Method
More than fifty years ago, Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki realized the implications of the fact that children worldwide learn to speak their native language with ease. He began applying the basic principles of language acquisition to music education. The ideas of parent involvement, loving encouragement, and constant repetition are among the key features of the Suzuki approach.
In addition to private lessons, children participate in regular group lessons and performances where they learn from and motivate each other. Dr. Suzuki's goal was not only to cultivate professional musicians but also to nurture compassionate human beings and develop each child's character through music education.

Meet the Instrument
Meet the Instrument is a fun-filled and humorous show exploring the world of music through the different families of instruments including string, percussion, wind, and brass families. The show features Rami Vamos as Wolfgang Amadeus Schmutzinberry joined by Conservatory faculty. Following the show, an instrument "petting zoo" awaits - a chance to touch, feel, and be inspired by the instruments, for ages 3-7. The shows are held in September, January & April.
