Chamber Music

Definition: Music performed by a small number of musicians, with one to a part.

Chamber Music is open to students of all ages who have had one or more years of private instrumental or vocal lessons. Participants will be grouped according to their skill level, and the repertoire spans all genres, including baroque, classical, pop, jazz, and new works. The chamber program is semester-long and takes place in both the Fall and Spring semesters. The program consists of 8 sessions with a faculty coach for vocal and instrumental ensembles. Each semester culminates with a live performance.

Point of View Orchestra (POVO)

Point of View Orchestra (POVO) is an innovative ensemble that performs a diverse repertoire crossing genres and geographic boundaries. The orchestra adopts an intergenerational approach, with youth, adults, and faculty playing side-by-side, exploring music from rock, folk, classical, and global traditions. This is not your typical ensemble; we will host two concerts followed by a banquet. Instrumentalists and singers interested in joining POVO are required to audition. Auditions will be set up throughout the summer and on September 7. Call Conservatory office to schedule. 20% discount for Academy students and adults taking private lessons.
