Concordia Conservatory is pleased to welcome Marc Chan to our piano faculty.
Described by The New York Times as a “gifted pianist and composer,” Marc is an accomplished performer, composer, lyricist, and author. A native of Singapore, his music has been performed at Carnegie Hall, Le Poisson Rouge, the Smithsonian Institution, and Esplanade Theatres on the Bay. His recording My Wounded Head 3 was praised by the San Francisco Chronicle as “entrancing… never less than mesmerizing.”
In addition to his active performing and composing career, Marc brings extensive teaching experience. He previously served on the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music and has taught theory, composition, and piano to students of varying ages and levels. His teaching emphasizes curiosity, creativity, and thoughtful musical exploration.
Marc holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition from the Manhattan School of Music and is a member of the New Dramatists Composer-Librettist Studio and the BMI Advanced Musical Theater Workshop.
