Concordia Conservatory welcomes new faculty members — Gunnar Sahlin, cello and Olivia Ottinger, voice.
Gunnar holds a Master’s degree from Long Island University and Bachelor’s degree from Mercer University's Robert McDuffie Center for Strings. He is a principal cellist for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and in 1987 Gunnar had the opportunity to perform for and learn from Yo-Yo Ma in a Master Class at the Stockholm Concert Hall. Gunnar is teaching cello at our Stamford campus.
Olivia holds Master's and Bachelor's degrees from The New School - Mannes School of Music. A mezzo-soprano in 2023, Oliva was featured in Carnegie Hall’s education programming with New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, City Lyric Opera’s La Traviata covering Flora, Teatro Grattacielo’s La Vestale, New Amsterdam Opera’s Lucrezia Borgia, and singing Ortrud from Lohengrin in concert. Olivia will be teaching voice at our Bronxville campus.
