Musical Adventures is designed for young children and parent/caregiver. This family-style class fosters music development, memory and rhythm skills, through a diverse collection of songs. An integral component of the class is music, books, drama, dance and chant, so children and adults are physically and musically engaged in a creative and fun experience to begin a lifelong music journey.

Summer Instruments Sampler
Ages 6–9

Give your child the chance to try out an instrument before they begin taking lessons. Students in this one-week camp will get the option of playing piano, percussion, ukulele and violin. Students will showcase their new skills in a performance at the conclusion of camp.

Piano Camp
Ages 5–13

Full Day

Students will learn new songs, basics of note reading, rhythm and keyboard theory. This course will include fun listening activities, theory games, improvisation and meeting new friends through duets and trios. Ideal for first time beginners to intermediate.

Folk Traditions For Strings
Ages 5–18

This camp will explore folk music from around the world such as the blues, Celtic fiddling, Klezmer and more. Focus will be on learning tunes by ear and learning to improvise in some of the styles. At least one year of private lessons is required. Open to any string instrument.

Guitar Workshop

Guitar Camp offers guitarists of all levels an opportunity for real immersion and growth in a friendly environment. Students will participate in ensembles, group classes and learn fundamentals of guitar technique.

This music-making and visual arts program is designed for children with special needs and provides for individuals to be an integral part of the creative experience with socialization, expression and relationship building at the program's core.

Chamber Music

Make playing an instrument even more exciting and fun by participating in a chamber music ensemble. Students receive coachings from faculty and counselors throughout the day, while at times directing themselves. Repertoire from all different musical styles is explored, from ancient music through contemporary, jazz, and rock.

Rock Band
Ages 10–18

Half Day PM

Students work together with faculty to form a band, learn songs and perform a fully-staged rock concert at the end of the program. These are real rock bands with real instruments performing the greatest hits from classic to modern rock and pop music. Learn the music of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Radiohead, Greenday, The Foo Fighters and many more great composers and bands.

Music Theatre/Vocal Arts Movie Music
Ages 9–18

Calling all singers, actors and dancers! Campers will explore the connection between music and the movies in this two-week camp. This group program will give students the opportunity to participate in scenes from their favorite movie musicals as they sing, dance and act.

Songwriting & Composition
Ages 9–18

The Conservatory’s Songwriting & Composition program offers students the opportunity to explore and refine their compositional skills. Students receive private composition lessons, classes in analysis, score-reading, theory, and aural skills, and the opportunity to collaborate with professional musicians in creating new works. During the program, students write pieces for small ensembles which are then performed and recorded in a full evening concert.

Academy
Ages 11–18

Full Day

This audition-only offering, open to advancing high school and middle school singers and instrumentalists, expands upon the model of the Conservatory’s Honors Academy. In Summer Academy, students receive classes in music theory, ear-training, composition, chamber music or ensemble vocal scenes, and performance practice.

For individuals of all ages and abilities. Lessons in all instruments and voice, plus music and art therapy. First-time students are required to interview with the Executive Director for teacher recommendation and schedule.

Need-based scholarships are available for summer private instruction and all camp programs. Concordia Conservatory is committed to making quality music education available to all students, no matter their financial circumstances. To apply for a scholarship parents are required to submit an application with supporting documentation.
