2019/2020 Hoch Chamber Series Season to Conclude with Broadcast August Performance

2019/2020 Hoch Chamber Series Season to Conclude with Broadcast August Performance

The Hoch Chamber Series concert originally scheduled for April 25 will be performed in Sommer Center and broadcast on Friday, August 7 at 7 pm. Fans can tune in to watch at the Concordia Conservatory YouTube channel, Optimum channels 19, 74 and 75, and FiOS channels 34, 40 and 47.

Finishing the season was important to founding benefactor Jim Hoch and artistic director Larry Dutton. “We broadcast a recording of a past favorite on April 25th of this year because at that time of strict quarantine we simply could not perform together. We are delighted to share this new performance with a broadcast audience,” said Dutton.

The concert was conceived to explore through music Concordia’s college theme for the previous academic year: Civics and Civility. Given the generation-defining events of this year, the concert’s theme is particularly relevant.

The evening will open with remarks from President Nunes and Rev. Samuel T. Clover of the Reformed Church of Bronxville. Performing will be Grammy Award-winning violist Lawrence Dutton of the Emerson String Quartet and violinist Elizabeth Lim-Dutton, with violinists Jee Sun Lee and Emanouil Manolov, violist Jesus Rodolpho Rodriguez, cellist Chung Sun Kim, and pianist Jon Klibonoff.

The concert program includes Joaquin Turina: Scéne Andalouse for Piano Sextet, Op. 7, and Ernest Chausson: Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Quartet in D Major, Op. 21.
