Concordia's Social Work Club Spreads Love on Valentine's Day

There were smiles all over campus today thanks to the Social Work Club, co-presidented by Cindy Ambrosio and Donna Brigandi. The club pulled off a surprise message about the importance of self care and self love. The post-it notes started appearing last night, to the delight of students, staff and faculty alike. Then the club began passing out care packages of universally essential items.

Cindy Ambrosio said, "The reactions to the project were incredible! Students given the care packages were initially surprised, but once the hand-off happened they all the same reaction: they smiled! Even those who were on their phones took a minute to react. That is definitely what we wanted. Later I happened to walk past a couple of students who were talking about how much they liked what we put in the care packages. It sounds cliche, but you really can't love others until you put some time into caring for yourself and loving yourself. The club wanted to take this traditional day of gift-giving to spread that message. We hope that students on campus surround themselves with people who bring them positive vibes and uplifting experiences."
