Concordia College New York has announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Wahlers to a new position at the College: Chief Administrative Officer. He will join Concordia on November 4, 2019.
Dr. Wahlers will draw upon decades of experience to lead the implementation of Reimagine Concordia, the College’s strategic vision for meeting the future of higher education. Pillars of the vision include expansion and diversification of the College’s profitable partnership programs, building upon the excellence of the College’s health sciences, nursing, education and business programs, and strategically analyzing campus assets for reinvestment opportunities directly benefitting an increasingly diverse student body encompassing a variety of traditional undergraduates, graduate students and adult learners.
Dr. Wahlers comes to Concordia College New York from Concordia University Portland, where as Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, then University Provost, his leadership produced record enrollment increases, and the creation and execution of successful strategies touching nearly every area of the University. He holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.S. in Education from Portland State University, and a B.S. in Secondary Education from Concordia College Seward.
