U.S. News Best Colleges Names Concordia a Top Performer on Social Mobility as Growth in Graduate Degrees Moves the College into New, Larger Category

Concordia College New York is among the 13% of ranked schools moved into different categories for the U.S. News 2020 Best Colleges rankings. Formerly ranked with 46 other colleges in the Regional College – North category, Concordia is now ranked among the 170 colleges and universities in the Regional University – North category.  
 
U.S. News Best Colleges forms categories based on information from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, which in December 2018 reclassified Concordia College from Baccalaureate Colleges: Diverse Fields to Master’s Colleges & Universities: Small Programs, a function of the increasing number of master’s degrees the College grants.
 
From the 2012-2013 academic year to the present, Concordia has seen a 345% growth in the number of advanced degrees it has awarded – testament to the quality and value of its master’s programs.
 
In a group of colleges and universities nearly four times the size of its previous category, the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings found Concordia College a standout in Most International Students (19th); Ethnic Diversity (top third); and in the top 25% of a new category: Top Performers on Social Mobility.
