Valeria Huerta wins 2nd place in Somer Science Fair

We are proud to share that Concordia Conservatory student Valeria Huerta recently won 2nd place at the Somers Science Fair for her innovative research project exploring the intersection of music and psychology.

Valeria, a dedicated piano student of Helen Yedigarian, and vocalist/keybaord player for the Conservatory’s Rock Band FUTURE ECHO, presented her project investigating whether there is an association between the musical factors of pitch/tempo and moral judgement in adolescents.  Through thoughtful research, experimental design and compelling data analysis, Valeria demonstrated both scientific curiosity and a deep connection to her musical studies.

This award highlights not only Valeria’s academic excellence but also the powerful role that music can play in shaping interdisciplinary thinking. We celebrate her achievement and look forward to seeing where her creativity and drive will lead her next.  Congratulations, Valeria!
