Conservatory Remote Year-End Recitals Come to a Close

Conservatory Remote Year-End Recitals Come to a Close

The Conservatory Year-End recitals took a different shape this year: all performances were video recorded and presented in a concert "movie" to friends and family over Zoom.

We could not be more proud of the students, who not only continue to grow musically since beginning remote learning, but for all developing new skills essential to the modern musician: video recording and production. Students recorded their performances from home, many using accompaniments pre-recorded by faculty pianist Jon Klibonoff, and learned gained valuable experience in navigating the challenges unique to recording: device placement, lighting, framing and presentation, to name a few.

A big thank you goes out to the Conservatory parents as well for the support given and patience showed to their children during the recording process.

Please find below some examples of some of the wonderful performances:

POVO (Point of View Orchestra):
– Peter Gabriel's Perspective, arranged by Matt Van Brink
– Max Richter's On the Nature of Daylight

Academy Chamber:
– JC Bach Quintet in D Major
