Concordia Conservatory presents Hear it Live! on May 19.2017 at 7:30pm in the Sommer Center for Worship and the Performing Arts at Concordia College.
Hear It Live! is a showcase concert hosted by Concordia Conservatory consisting of works by composers & songwriters in elementary, middle school and high school. The works, which have been composed for ensembles of six performers or fewer, will be performed by professional and student musicians. Participating composers and songwriters include Alexandra Chitu, Robert McGinness, Rihanna Samson, Yuri Lee, Jasper Zimmerman, Linnea Hentschel, Nick Lombardi, Sammy Sussman, Julia Ognibene, Ben Wien, and Mina Kim. The composers range in age from 9 to 17 years old, and attend the following schools: Greenvale Elementary School (Eastchester), Bronxville Elementary School, Hillside Elementary (Hastings-on-Hudson), Immaculate Conception School (Tuckahoe), Tuckahoe Middle School, Eastchester Middle School, Bronxville High School, Regis High School (Manhattan, NYC), and Fox Lane High School (Mount Kisco).
Concordia conservatory and its Compositio n& Songwriting Department host Hear It Live! annually. The event gives student composers and songwriters a setting in which to share "live" performances of their works on the concert stage. The Composition & Songwriting department offers lessons throughout the year and its students have participated in the county's best summer programs and have gone on to enroll in the county's most prestigious music conservatories.
This concert is free and open to the public.
