Group Classes: Music

The Conservatory's group classes offer students the chance to explore and enhance their skills in a friendly group environment. For all classes, there is a one-time registration fee fo $50 for students not enrolled in other Conservatory lessons or classes.

Intro to Piano
Students learn the basics of piano in an engaging and social environment. Students are introduced to listening skills and fundamental musical elements of rhythm, melody, and notation.

Meet the Instrument
This 4-week survey class is designed to help children ages 6–8 choose his or her own instrument for private study. Each session, members of the faculty will introduce a new instrumental family—strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, keyboard, and guitar—in a fun, interactive class. Young students learn to produce a sound on the instruments, observe live instrument demonstrations and performances with hand-out materials included.

Theory and Ear Training for Beginners
For students in their first years of instrumental or vocal training and those who wish to strengthen basic concepts such as music notation, rhythm, reading, writing, and listening skills.

Ages: 6 and up Sat. 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM $295 (16 classes)

 

 



Intermediate Theory and Ear Training
This class will further explore rhythms, intervals, major and minor scales, primary functions, and transposition for students who are at the equivalency to the National Music Certificate Program Preparatory Theory and Preliminary Rudiments Exams. 16 classes or year-long.

Advanced Theory and Ear-Training
This class is for the advanced student and will include complex rhythms, intervals, scales and modes, and music analysis for students who are at the equivalency to the National Music Certificate Program Grade 1. 16 classes or year-long

College Theory and Ear-Training
This theory section is for high school age students with a strong theory background. 16 classes or year-long
